Is this even supposed to be a question?
Of course rap is a type of music.
Music has always been about expressing your feelings through a language that everyone understands, music. Now, if you are telling me that rap isn't about expressing your feelings about somethings, something's now right with you.
Most of you think that rap is about a black dude with a snapback talking in a song with a hip-hop beat how he is so rich and how he got all them girls. No, that's not what all songs are about. Rappers like Kendrick Lamar and Eminem should be considered lyrical geniuses and philosophers.
You know, hip-hop is being compared to Shakespeare's sonnets etc.
If you have distaste in listening to someone "rapping", then fine go ahead and listen to whatever you like. But if you actually appreciate the work that goes in to making these masterpieces of verses and records, then go ahead cause you are in for a treat.
