Is Dodge Charger 2016-2017 a good car for my first car? and What are the pros and cons about Dodge Charger?
- FlagMichaelLv 74 years ago
That is a horrible first car. Your first car should be disposable: pay cash - never, ever finance a first car! - and be something you will not cry about in the very likely event you see it hauled to the wrecking yard. 60% of new drivers wreck their car in the first year, 80% in the first three years.
That's okay - the insurance will shut you down anyway. For a new driver the insurance, when you can find somebody to insure you, is $300-$500 per month in most of the US. In some places it is well over $1000 per month.
You are going to be learning to drive for years; in 3-5 years you should be decent but nowhere near experienced. Look at a high performance cars when you are in your mid-20s, not when you are a teen.

The Charger has a very poor reliability rating. Plus, insurance costs are generally quite high. For the cash you'd have to lay down there are so many better quality choices.

If you check out the insurance costs you'll see why a Charger is an awful first car.

Test drive the car and experience it for yourself. If you like it, then buy it. Also do research on it. Find out what you really want in a car as well. Good luck.

Tight seats, poor visibility and high insurance rates.

Do you have some reason you need such a big car? If not it's a terrible choice. Get a Corolla or Cruze or Civic - something like that

Likely too much car for a new driver. I advise against that purchase.

Sure, just rob a bank first.

Not really, but if your parents are loaded then go for it
