Although many forward the idea that “Lucifer” is the devil or Satan this is in fact untrue, scripturally the term applied to the dynasty of Babylonian human kings and was never used as a description for the devil.

The idea that “Lucifer” is the devil seems to have derived from the misunderstandings of the established churches and further promoted by the film industry and those without realisation.

    Bible encyclopedias explain this to be the case and also wikipedia in the link below;

(2 Corinthians 2:11) “that we may not be overreached by Satan, for we are not ignorant of his designs.”

Neither Lucifer. We don't know his name. In fact, since spirit beings have their own language, it's very possible that their real names in the spirit realm would make no sense to us.

    1 Cor 13:1

If I speak in the tongues of men and of angels

    Judges 13:17-18

Then Ma·noʹah said to Jehovah’s angel: “What is your name, so that we may honor you when your word comes true?” However, Jehovah’s angel said to him: “Why are you asking about my name, seeing that it is a wonderful one?”

First, the word 'lucifer' is not a name, but was a descriptive word about a real king

Second, Satan is the opposite of God and was not living with God in the first place.

The Bible does not answer that question.

Indeed: the Bible does not even teach us that "Lucifer" is a name of Satan.

(That association was first made by Christians after The Book of Isaiah was translated into Latin.)

The Bible *does* teach us that Satan fell from Heaven.

But it does NOT teach us if Satan had a personal name ("Satan" is a title), nor does it teach us what that name is or was.

The only angelic names found in the Bible are:

    - Michael

    - Gabriel

    - Raphael (in The Book of Tobit, which is found in the Bibles of most Christians but is not found in 66-book Bibles)

    - Abaddon / Apollyon (which is usually deemed to be a purely symbolic name, not an actual personal name)

As I mentioned before, "Satan" is really a title rather than a name, though we moderns use it as a name.

With regard to "Samael" - that name is used for an archangel in Jewish literature and legend, and though the archangel with that name is associated with the *role* "satan" (which word means "accuser" or "prosecutor", among other things), and though in that literature Samael is alternately portrayed as good or evil, in that literature Samael is never described as having the **title** "Satan" or as having lost his status as archangel, both of which things are part of the Christian Bible and the (nearly) universal Christian view of Satan.

His name was Lucifer before he was cast out of heaven for committing high treason against God. Now he is known as satan or the devil.

    gods are imaginary cult creatures.

and imaginary creatures, by definition, do not exist.
