Why are dreams always different to real life?

When we sleep at night the things that happen in our dreams are always different to things that happen in real life. The rules/ways of reality don't apply in our dreams. Why are dreams always different to real life?

Real Life is not so real. It is made up of a lot of wrong information we accept as truth. Dreams connect us with our true emotions, so naturally we see things differently if we use our feelings, rather than facts to judge a situation. One is not better than the other, but both facts and emotions should be used to arrive at a conclusion regarding everything ... I wish you well Clara.

Sometimes dreams are exactly like real life. For example, if you had a grueling job, you might dream that you were still at work and wake up very tired.

Because dreams are your minds way of looking for solutions to problems and in order to solve a problem - you have to break against the normal strictures of how your life operate.

In a book I read called Leviathan by Thomas Hobbes he says dreams are decaying memories and in our dreams we think we are awake but when we wake up we know that we are awake. so in a way you could be remembering life as it was even prior to your birth but time causes a distortion to the way the dream is portrayed before you.
