Is a 500W PSU enough to run this?

I'm thinking of buying this set up:

I've seen that the GTX 970 requires either 450W, or in some references, 500W. I'm concerned whether the PSU can power the set up: adequately, and/or it will always run maxxed out / hot.

Thoughts?

That's plenty. I do IT work and have seen many Microcenter Powerspec computers. They don't fool around. The computers always seem well made. They wouldn't make a mistake that big by installing too weak of a PSU for the parts being run. The only gripe I really have is that the cases are very plain generic cases. I guess they have a utilitarian design philosophy.

According to PCPartpicker.com a build like that would require around 360w. So you should have room for overclocking and adding hard drives or SSD.

If you want something fancy looking. Consider a custom build through Cyberpowerpc.com. This build has a 512GB SSD, 1TB HD, liquid cooling, 1,000W PSU, fancy case and color changing case lighting.

    Then get a 600 - 650w PSU.

The PSU only draws what it needs. It doesn't run at just one output level all the time.
