how much salary should I get to own a car in singapore?

    Not sure what's up with all the answers so far.

    Assuming you don't have a family to support and you're a typical average Singaporean, i'd say at least $4,000 after CPF deduction. Any amount below that you'd be better off suffering a little and taking public transport. Or the occasional uber/grab thrice a week. Still cheaper than getting in the long term.

    there are many types of car and they come in different prices, basically if you don't have to pay for house loan and have no kids, you can afford loan value up to 12 months of your gross monthly salary, anything more than that it would be tight for you
