which is stronger for a bolt: fine threaded or coarse threaded?

cause i stripped the threads off a fine threaded 3/8 bolt and i want a stronger hold.

just tell me which one holds up better

    If you stripped the threads off, then perhaps a coarse thread would be better for your specific application. You might also try a higher grade of bolt.

    However, generally a fine thread results in a stronger bolt since a fine thread is not as deep as a coarse one therefore less metal is removed from the bolt, and if the thread engagement length is correct a bolt will usually break from tensile stress before the threads strip.
