*SCREAM*, Sorry it is not you it is this stupid myth and now doctors are feeding into it as well. This is the same sort of "freak out" people had that nutrasweet caused cancer, in that study the mice were fed 40 times their own body weight in nutra sweet. If you are fed 40 times your own body weight of apples or carrots it is going to cause bad things to happen to you! That myth has since been debunked and they don't have to say it causes cancer any more. Similarly, if you let your baby sit in a cloud of baby powder every day and throw it around all the time so it causes a monster cloud, then yes it can settle into their lungs and cause a problem. But if you ground up roots and berries and flung them around all over the place you would have the SAME problem, foreign matter in the lungs is foreign matter. Baby powder does have some very good uses, like absorbing the moisture left on a babies body after they have been peeing in their diaper all day and constantly wet down there. If you are constantly wet in one spot a rash will develope, and baby powder, which was used by the american Indians long long ago for the same reason, is perfectly fine to use on a baby or it would have been taken off the shelves and would not be included in baby kits sold in the store! That is just people with over active imaginations on what could happen in the worst case scenario. Personally, when i apply baby powder to my daughter I do it sparingly and lightly so there is no large cloud of dust. It is just common sense people, stop the insanity please!!!! Baby powder is fine, and helpful!
