Merry Chrissmas everyone. I am off to one of Miguel's friends and then to the in-laws soon. As per Hispanic tradition, we open presents at midnight with the family. Some cultures celebrate the birth of Jesus, like in El Salvador where Miguel was born, at midnight commencing the day of the birth of me- hee hee. or rather Jesus. Our culture and most of Europe, celebrates it the next morning. Since I have both cultures in my family, I celebrate it both days. More presents for Michael that way:) I spent 4 hours answering Joan's post this morning. Duey gave me a bout of suffering and then deleted the post. She assures me that Om sent it through, however, She is such a liar- when I am made to suffer- that I do not trust that it went through. I hope you got it though, cuz it was chock full of info- not to mention 4 hours on the computer, when I am behind on my x-mas wrapping and such. Anyways, I want to share something silly. I mentioned that my M-I-L was Jesus' mother or the Virgin Mary and that She is very catholic and I find it funny that She has Jesus and Mary all over Her house. Last night when I was making our annual tamales, I did a quick peek around the house. I was trying to not be obvious and not get caught snooping, so I may have missed a few, but I counted 19 Jesuses, 10 Virgin Marys and 4 last suppers. I can't wait til She remembers who She is upon gaining Her knowledge :) She was at the last supper with us, as it was my family gathering that we announced the commencement of school. BTW- that DaVinci portrayal of the last supper is false of course, however, since the DaVinci Code came out, they said that it was Mary Magdalene that was to the left of Jesus. In fact that was supposed to be judas. If you look at the painting- as I did last night- judas is turned away from Jesus, talking to the supposed person that paid judas to betray Jesus- in mockery of how pete betrayed us. Okay, I want to write some fun facts, but I have to wrap presents for tonight. Merry Chrissmas and to all a good night.
