Creationists, you do know what the scientific term "theory" means right?

In science a theory is a testable model of the manner of interaction of a set of natural phenomena, capable of predicting future occurrences or observations of the same kind, and capable of being tested through experiment or otherwise verified through empirical observation- Wikipedia

A set of statements or principles devised to explain a group of facts or phenomena, especially one that has been repeatedly tested or is widely accepted and can be used to make predictions about natural phenomena-Awnser.com

So tell me when you say "only just a theory" you do realize that "just a theory" is still verifiably right?

Another thing why isn't there an official "theory of Creationism"?

Every single day here I see proof that they have no idea what a scientific theory is.

Many people learned in elementary school that a theory falls in the middle of a hierarchy of certainty--above a mere hypothesis but below a law. Scientists do not use the terms that way, however. According to the National Academy of Sciences (NAS), a scientific theory is "a well-substantiated explanation of some aspect of the natural world that can incorporate facts, laws, inferences, and tested hypotheses." No amount of validation changes a theory into a law, which is a descriptive generalization about nature. So when scientists talk about the theory of evolution--or the atomic theory or the theory of relativity, for that matter--they are not expressing reservations about its truth.

In addition to the theory of evolution, meaning the idea of descent with modification, one may also speak of the fact of evolution. The NAS defines a fact as "an observation that has been repeatedly confirmed and for all practical purposes is accepted as 'true.'" The fossil record and abundant other evidence testify that organisms have evolved through time. Although no one observed those transformations, the indirect evidence is clear, unambiguous and compelling.

All sciences frequently rely on indirect evidence. Physicists cannot see subatomic particles directly, for instance, so they verify their existence by watching for telltale tracks that the particles leave in cloud chambers. The absence of direct observation does not make physicists' conclusions less certain.

Don't you know that creationists are a real embarrassment for intelligent Christians!!

Isn't a theory a best guess based on an interpretation of the available evidence and as such, subject to change if different and conflicting data comes to light? For example, "Particles to People Evolution" is a scientific hypothesis and "Intelligent Design" is a scientific hypothesis. Intelligent Design has not been proven wrong and neither has evolution has been proven wrong. Intelligent Design is simply a counter-example to the reigning scientific belief in step-by-step evolution. If it weren't for the fact that it challenges the sacred cow of Macro evolution, ID would be qualify as proper science since it uses counter-example and statistics to challenge a part of the evolutionary scheme. The only problem is that the part that it challenges is the very heart of the theory. That offends today's scientists who instead of following the evidence no matter where it leads are wedded to the idea of naturalism as the only legitimate foundation stone for proper scientific inquiry and will not even consider any other possibility. Science cannot disprove that we're here by creation, but neither can science prove the alternative which is we're here by chance or macro-evolution. No one has observed either. They are both accepted on faith. The Darwinists talk about ID not being science, because it’s not testable—but the only aspects of Darwinism that are testable, such things as adaptation and so forth, neither confirm Darwinism nor refute the design hypothesis

No, they don't know what scientific theory means, actually.

They still think that when a theory is reaaally good, it becomes a law. This is untrue, of course, as a theory is the most important, exciting, and comprehensive thing in science, made up of laws, facts, and observations.

there was an example that comes to mind . surely you've heard of the theory of relativity E=Mc2 but of course who would believe in nuclear power or the atomic bomb .It's only a theory in reality . Maybe some of these people should try to rethink what they have written in their responses .

when will this so called theory of creationism actually acheive something?

... if there was no God how could the world look how it is today? How could are bodies be made so complexly that everyday is a miracle to still be alive? ...

Why would a god make his creatures have such weird forms that they have to kill and eat each other to survive? Why would a god be incapable of making anything that lasts, or anything capable of surviving without using a tremendous amount of energy and resources to stay alive?

It also says this on wikpedia smart mouth!!!

    In common usage, the word theory is often used to signify a conjecture, an opinion, a speculation, or a hypothesis. In this usage, a theory is not necessarily based on facts;

Thanks for playing now go stick your head back in the sand!!!

-EDIT We can go tit for tat all night you tried to misrepresent what it says by only using the part that fits your argument. Cheers!

There may not been any leads for testing of the subject.

Other than the bible that could have been written by several people before it has reach our current time.
