Who do you think has the most distinctive rock voice?

Past or Present?

Distinctive in that everytime they come on the radio, you automatically know who it is!! Does not necessarily have to be the most musically talented.

Update:

My picks:

Chris Cornell & Maynard from Tool

Update 2:

I'd include Jeff Buckley =)

Update 3:

Linz - You're right, how could I forget the Smashing Pumpkins!

Update 4:

Ryan .. I mean distinctive as in noticeable and identifiable not unique as in nothing else like it ............

    Chris Cornell from Soundgarden- Audioslave.

He has an original voice and he can really wail. Great vocal range.

I would've also picked MJK from Tool as well. He has a very broad vocal range- easily transitioning from a high pitch to a "throaty" scream like in "The Pot", listen to the beginning of the song against the very end. Another good example is Eulogy, where the melody starts off light, but by the end of the song becomes very heavy and intense, or if you listen to a Perfect Circle, "The Package" is a great example.

We have the same tastes in music, it appears.

Megadeth's Dave Mustaine has quite the voice, he is a wicked singer though.

And Axl Rose and Sebastien Bach are amazing singers with very distinctive voices.
