I need to go from Jakarta to Bali, Indonesia. Are there budget friendly air planes?

Are there budget friendly air planes (but safe of course!) which you can suggest? How long does the flight take?

Thanks!

At present, there are no safe Indonesian airlines, especially the budget ones. A good term for them would be 'fly and die'. I myself have stopped flying domestic flights in the country, even though I've been here since 1999. I also won't fly any Indonesian airlines flights internationally.

In addition, Indonesian airlines have been banned from flying to Europe due to the safety hazard they pose to one and all. International safety standards are more stringent than Indonesia's, so how safe do you think domestic flights on budget carriers would be?

The US has warned its citizens not to fly on Indonesian airlines as well. Check out:

On top of that, Indonesia grounded its own domestic flights for a number of local airlines.

Garuda is supposedly safe now, however, would you trust an airline that had one of its pilots assassinate one of their own human rights activists during his international flight?

As to how long the flight takes, it could be an eternity :-)

They are all unsafe. There have been many air crashes with all of the local airlines.

AirAsia is a cheap airline with many accidents.

Garuda is the most expensive and also had an accident.

Adam air is cheap and also had accidents.

Wings air, owned by lion air, maybe didn't have a crash

Lion air also had a crash.

Even one of them had prayer cards in the back of the seats. Good LUCK!

category III, deemed as 'least safe':

Batavia, Adam Air, Kartika Airlines, Transwisata Air, Jatayu Airlines and cargo jetliners Tri MG Intra Asia Airlines and Manunggal Air Service.

    category II, unsafe:

Garuda, Merpati Nusantara Airlines, Lion Air, Sriwijaya Air, Wings Air, Indonesia's AirAsia, Mandala Airlines, Pelita Air Service, Riau Airlines, Trigana Air Service and Travel Express Aviation Service.

    category I, safe:

    NO Indonesian airlines.

air asia is the best budget airline in asia. that is the recommended and safest airline. it takes only 1-1.5hrs flight.

fyi, most indonesian airlines are not recognised throughout the world. they cant fly into europe or usa due to their safety and maintenance stds. there has been frequent indonesion air crash reported in the news last year .
