I feel it is in style right now and that you don't have to be a "bad boy" to get it done. Where I'm from (Chicago) many guys have it done. I would know this because I pierced both of my ears. If you are worried about him trying to get in with the wrong crowd, that is not it at all. Most kids get it done purely as a fashion thing. Also, I guess it could give them a confidence boost (hard to explain, it's a guy thing). If it were my son, I'd let him get it done. Then again, I am only 20 so that is a decision that would be far off for me. My best advice is let him get it done. A lot of kids around here get it done, don't even like it, and remove the earrings within a week. I'd give him a chance to express himself. Don't worry, pierced ears are not affiliated with gangs, sexal orientation, or anything else like that. It's all for looks. Hope to have helped you. Good luck.
