Do night shifts (BPO) really ruin our health?

Hi Friends,

Let me know how to maintain a good sound health for a person who works only night shifts ( particularly in call centers). And suggest us can we continue this profession for long run or not.

Thanks in advance,

Chris

I heard peoples pineal gland and melatonin levels are affected because of working night shifts, especially in women. They pineal gland releases melatonin, which is released initially to start the sleep cycle, then released again at REM sleep. There was some sort of cancer in women where the rate was way higher if they worked the night shift. Not as significant in men, but the rate still increased. I can't remember what kind it was now, but if I remember later I'll come back and edit.
