How to install Belkin wireless G router if I do not have network key?
Do I have to reset the setting? If yes, how to reset? Once reset, what is the next procedure in sequence to install wireless router on my PC?

Hi,
You will have to reset the router. If you look on the back you will see a small hole, this is the master reset. You have to push this in and hold it for about 5 seconds, this will revert it back to factory settings. To set it up again visit http://www.belkin.com/support/ This will help with the setup.

Further to previous answers, default the router by pressing the reset. This clears any passwords that may have been set. Connect via a CAT5 cable and with the router on go to Start/Run and type in cmd and hit enter. From the command prompt type ipconfig /renew and press enter. The bottom number listed will be the default gateway (router) address. Type this number into the Explorer address bar and you should get the logon page. The default user is admin, default password is empty. From here it is very easy to set up, just look through the menus. Belkin tech help is very good, the numbers are posted on their web page. If you are using it in the UK one or two of the British ISPs use slightly non-standard protocols. This may require a firmware upgrade which Belkin will send you a link for. For all the normal ISPs all you need is your logon name and password for the broadband connection. Set your own wireless encryption key. Do not use the router without encryption!

You can access the setup in a belkin router by using a cat5 cable and then going to 192.168.1.1 or 192.168.2.1 from internet explorer

If you do need to reset you do it by pushing a paperclip into the small hole on the back until the power lamp blinks

You should be able to get to the configuration screen for the router by connecting it to your computer using a wired port on the router.

Once you have done that, type in 192.168.1.1 and get to the setup screen. Then you just have to configure what options you want.
