What does it really mean? "Eyes wide shut"?

    "Keep you eyes wide open before marriage, half shut after" means that before marriage you need to do just that and keep them open and see how the person is and their personality, good traits, bad traits, everything. But keep them half shut after means that you don't need to focus on them so much because you will begin to notice all the little things that you don't particularly like and you will probably start an argument about it and it's just very unhealthy for a relationship when you fuss all the time. So try not to focus on every little flaw with them after marriage.

    The film means to not open this gate. It was taken from a particular pagan initiation ceremony. I cannot explain it, other than it is a cautionary tale to the initiate and the degree team. to remind them to always be aware, and to liberate themselves from the hive mentality.

    Same or very similar to "Can't see the wood for the trees". You can't see what's going on around you even though you are looking
