Best answer: Don't use any kind of "polish" like Brasso, which is corrosive and abrasive, and known to ruin cymbals.  Rubbing compounds and other abrasives remove metal and can alter the sound.

Dissolve a tablespoon of salt in a cup of vinegar.  Gradually mix in just enough flour or cornstarch to make a paste.

Wash the cymbal thoroughly with warm water, ordinary dish soap, and a plastic pot scrubber or Scotch-Brite type scouring pad.  Rinse and dry.

Apply the cleaning paste to evenly coat one side of the cymbal.  Let stand for 30 minutes, then rinse with water and towel or pat dry.

Don't rub the cymbal while the paste is applied.  The chemistry of this method converts copper oxide back to metallic copper.  It is unlikely that the cymbal has developed any significant amount of copper chloride or copper sulfate in the patina.

Best answer: The exact laws relating to copyright vary from country to country and, unfortunately, you don't specify a country.

Generally speaking, you cannot use other people's compositions, recordings or arrangements without permission from the copyright holder(s) unless the material is old enough to be in the public domain. Here is a link relating to "exceptions" as they apply in the UK (I would assume similar rules apply elsewhere in Europe and in North America):

    https://www.gov.uk/guidance/exceptions-t...

Simply being a student does NOT automatically mean that any music you use is for "educational purposes" or that any of these "exceptions" apply. Assuming that your film is coursework then I suggest you ask your tutor/teacher/lecturer for guidence.

You can compose, record and publish a tune "inspired" by an existing tune - there are many cases of a composter openly admitting that a composition is "inspired" by an existing composition (The Beach Boys' Surfer Girl, for example, was inspired by When You Wish Upon a Star, the riff from the song Blitzkreig - Metallica's cover is the best known version - was inspired by Hocus Pocus by Focus) - but your composition must not merely be a copy.

  • On a Left handed Guitar. The strings are in exact same order as standard Guitar. Fret finger numbers same order. Why are chords reversed?

I'm Left handed, I bought a Left handed Electro acoustic guitar. A friend gave me a couple of teach yourself books written for the standard right handed player. Then I bought some Left handed tuition books... My Guitar is strung exactly the same as the standard RH guitar. Low E (thickest string) on top closest to chin to high E (thinnest) closest to knee. The Fretting hand finger numbers are exactly the same too. So why do I need to read standard chord diagrams in mirror image? Surely the finger position and Fret numbers are exactly the same? Isn't just a case of doing everything instructed with the Right hand instead of the Left? I'm confused, because reading a chord diagram everything is in the exact same order except for the neck being on the right. Thanks in advance, I hope this made sense?

My husband and I perform a great deal of 21st century chamber music, and the over-notation and loopy academic writing of some is just pointless, even if the music itself is worthy. Be clear, not confounding.

If I start practicing both at the same time will it ruin my progress for either instrument specifically for the Guitar since that's what I want to specialize in over time.
