Best answer: Unless you own the business...the customer is always right.

    Even when they are wrong.

This is because the owner of the business does not want any negative stuff being said about the business.

Having once been a business owner myself...customers can be really unreasonable, rude, and sometimes totally flakey. But sometimes treating them as if they are right will keep them spending money.

My best example is - A customer bought a $3.00 box of staples. Got home , opened them and they were the wrong size. He put them back in the packaging and returned them with a receipt. There was a store policy of not accepting returns on opened items. The sales person knew this and refused the return. The customer explained that he accidentally grabbed the wrong package and he had put them back in the package and had the receipt. He only wanted to exchange them.

I walked in to a heated argument between the sales person and the customer over the stupid staples. This customer spent several hundred dollars a month in that shop...and he knew people in the neighborhood.

So...even though it was against posted store policy...he was right. he got his exchange and I fired the sales person because I knew he would not come back with that person there...and he would tell his business associates...and the shop could potentially lose more than $1,000 a month in business.

So the customer was wrong. But he was right.

However ...on occasion I have had to ask a customer to leave and never come back.

....which is why I got out of retail 30 years ago....

  • Is it better to be a seller on Ebay or Amazon?

I'm asking current/past sellers; which one gave the better overall experience and why? I'm trying to get rid of old childhood toys from my closet, and many are still unopened and can be worth something.

  • Does "repetitive advertising" actually work?

I ask because I notice that seems to be the theme nowadays. Possibly has been for years and I'm just now paying attention. I notice when I'm in a store they'll play the same ad over and over. I ask because I notice that seems to be the theme nowadays. Possibly has been for years and I'm just now paying attention. I notice when I'm in a store they'll play the same ad over and over. For instance, a special they were running in produce or the bakery. The same commercials over and over. By that I mean I've seen the same commercial 2 or 3 days during ONE commercial break. I've even seen em back to back. Or like your seat belt light and buzzer in your car. Or how you get the same offers for credit constantly. Do they think people will be like, you know what, screw it. Let me see what this is all about? I know they're paying more for the repetitiveness so I guess my main question is, is it fruitful for them? Are they really making more money off of it? I mean does the repetition ingrain it in people's heads? Reason I ask is because it does absolutely nothing for me. It actually turns me off if anything. It's annoying as hell.

I now know i was sold on a lie for them to advance of a lower price. But my question is, how do i respond to the client. Do i call them out on what they said to me about being long term or do i just let it be? The point of sale was face to face so i do not have their statement in writing.

My name is Turner, first of all, and everyone makes a joking reference to the TV show, Fairly Odd Parents. I just met this guy named James and his other friends yesterday. They asked me my name and when I told them, James called me "Timmy Turner," the name of the cartoon character I hate. As soon as he called me this, I kicked him. He saw how much it irritated me and only kept on calling me by the name, so what did I do? I kept punching and kicking him. He backed up a little and I told his friends that I was going to hurt him a little. They all laughed at him and every time I kicked him, he still called me by the name "Timmy Turner." After a while of kicking and punching him, he immediately jabbed me in the face and I fell to the floor. His friends helped me up and while they were calling him an asshole, he shook his head at me and warned me not to ******* touch him again. Should I report his *** to the staff? What will they do about it?
