• Does this make me a bad mom for raising my kids like this?

Best answer: Everything you're doing sounds right to me. I especially respect you for not putting ridiculous gender regulations on your son. Good job! People have always been extra judgey in terms of how children are raised. Just keep doing what you think is right, and tune them out. No matter what you do, someone,... show more

As it turns out ... I found out shrinks think that if you are sexually active they categorize you at a higher risk for being a nutcase. In other words, you lying to your therapist is actually a good thing.

My son is 18 but it's his senior year in high school. Yesterday I found out through speaking with the school that my son has been skipping multiple days of school. I also recently found weed and alcohol bottles in his room. I know's hes legally an adult, but he still lives under my roof, and he should abide my rules which include attending school, no smoking, and no drinking. His father says he's too old to be grounded, but he's always been the more lenient parent. I think he should be grounded for a month, which is the same way I would punish my other 2 children (14, and 11). Any suggestions or thoughts?

Public schools don't have many dress codes in our district, but the school administrators are requiring my 12 year old to wear a bra. They mention that other children feel uncomfortable around her and that it is not appropriate for her to go to school without one. Why would other children even be paying attention to this? They are still schoolchildren, playing with dolls, on the playground, and interested in playing with toy cars! The school is pretty crazy to sexualize a little girl and suggest that most kids wear a bra at this age. I didn't wear one until I was 14. It horrified me when they taught puberty to 10 year olds! I don't think my daughter needs a bra. She is a growing girl, but those undergarments are for high schoolers.

Recurrent head lice is often a sign the child is #1 not properly checked daily for two weeks, #2 home (or her room) wasn’t cleaned properly, and #3 parent failed to use an over-the-counter lice treatment kit.
—- Have the mom cut the hair shorter, about 6 inch length (length of your hand). It will be easier to de-louse with the kit. Next, call the beauty salons and ask if they will cut her hair after a lice treatment. A short pixie style will look cute, and will be easy to manage. There’s NO reason to shave her bald. —- The mon has to de-louse the girl with an actual lice kit. Home remedies don’t always work. All bedding must be stripped and laundered in hot water, dried on the hottest setting. ALL stuffed animals, hair clips, and so one All fabric furniture in the house had to be sprayed. Check DAILY. A list of “to-do” to get rid lice is below

My Mom's father used a belt to teach her and she and two of her three siblings turned out well. One sister turned out possessed. The maternal grandfather died when I was a baby so I have no memory of him. He apparently was very strict and yelled a lot but at the same time was the best person my Mom ever knew she says. She also says he was made a saint by God. So if he was okay to do this it makes me think it is okay. So is it okay to beat a child with a belt as long as done for discipline and not for fun?

My son is 16, we live in a state where marijuana is legal for people 21 years old, and my son smokes weed. It started a couple weeks ago, when I found a bag of marijuana under our couch. My son told me, and still stands by that it wasn't his weed. Today I looked in his room, and I what looked like an ounce of marijuana. I confronted my son about it, and he thinks what he did is entirely okay. He says that he works hard and it's a tough at school, and marijuana helps keep the edge off. For now I've taken it away, and my son told me that he should be given the money he paid for it, or he should have it back. He's not grounded, but I told him that I don't want to know in the future if he smokes weed. Should I ground him? Or should I let him smoke marijuana?
