Bandwidth is how much information can be crammed down the pipeline at the same time. You can have enormous bandwidth, but it still takes all that data a few milliseconds to travel to and from places.

In first person shooter games like counter strike, your latency or ping is much more important than your bandwidth. You can get an edge on multiplayer gameplay by having a faster response time, whereas for bandwidth it doesn't matter if you can transfer at 20Mbps or 1Gbps, because the game won't use it all anyway.

There are hundreds of hacks and online tools available online to "crack" WiFi passwords. Just a while back I saw these tools are making their way in to the Google play store as well. You just download some app on your phone, touch a button on the app, and the phone connects to a neighbor's secured WiFi network, without even asking for the network key. So then, are all these tools for PC/ apps for Android fake? Or do they really work? If they do, is there something I can do to improve the security of my home WiFi network? I'm on a "metered" connection, with 100GB per month. If some 3rd party starts downloading stuff using my connection and I exceed this 100GB limit, I will end up having to pay a large sum of money to the ISP..

But I have multiple laptops, tablets, phones etc that I need to connect to. When I take the same ethernet cable and plug it into a router, I get nothing. I assume I can t plug straight into the router, so I need a modem, right? So it s not a DSL connection and it s not a cable connection, is there not one I can just plug an ethernet cable into and go?

So net neutrality might be ending soon so I was wondering if I needed an ISP to access the internet.

  • Where online sells dog harness and collar sets?

I'm looking for a strong leather type collar and harness set for my 2 year old American bulldog. I want the harness to fit her size, instead of just ordering a one size fits all. I'm in the uk. Also, a thick chain leash.

They are coming out in a couple days but something is not adding up. The plan I have is the 75/75 and they claim that I should be close to that and downloading I am right at 75. Uploads are 4. I am using an ethernet cable on a laptop and tried it on another laptop with the same speedtest results. Turned modem off and on a few times, called Frontier to have them do settings, can't figure it out. Must be a line or a hardware connection because I have tried everything!

  • Is www a closed or open network?

Best answer: 'www' is just one of the prefixes that may appear in front of a domain name. Originally it stood for World Wide Web, but nowadays it is fairly meaningless although where it is used typically it refers to an Internet based service. Many sites use different prefixes, and some sites ignore the prefix completely. show more
