  • My computer screen is bigger than my monitor!!! HELP PLEASE!!!?

Best answer: That's normally something you take care of using your monitor's menu. It is not a Windows setting. There used to be "Horizontal" and "Vertical" monitor settings that allowed one to adjust how much of the desktop was seen on the monitor.

What you want is a card that has 4 DisplayPort connections, and 4 monitors that support that connection. If you don't have these things, don't bother. So after you spend the $1,500 or more to get what you need, you install everything, connect it all up, and tell Windows to spread the desktop over the 4 monitors.

If I want 2k (1440p), 4k, 5k, or 8k screen resolution then I have to go out an buy a monitor that supports that resolution. You can buy a Dell 8k 7680x4320 monitor for $3700 but you will also need a higher end DisplayPort 1.4 cable to go with it.
Your graphics solution, whether it be dedicated or integrated, will need to be able to support a higher resolution monitor. Your graphics solution will also need to have the correct ports for plugging it into the monitor. You also need to check to see how many Frames Per second the GPU will support at a given screen resolution.

Right now, 7680x4320 is the highest screen resolution a modern GPU like the GTX 1080ti will support but in the future that number will grow. 16k (15360x8640) at 240fps is being Targeted for VR headsets in the distant future. However, using a GTX 1080ti at such a screen resolution would be like trying to play modern PC games with a GT 230 at (2560x1440).

Im going to use my laptop as a sort of hub and then just use the external monitors to work. Will using the HDMI splitter allow me the use of 2 external monitors at the same time? Also when I was looking on amazon, some of the splitters would say only 1 output would have to be on at one time, Im assuming this would work since its just the laptop as the output, but any other advice would be appreciated.
