Would a girl whos 5ft 3in tall and 230 lbs be considered severely obese and has a waist measurement of 43in is this dangerous?

    Favourite answer:

Yes, her overweight is at a level that impacts her overall health and will most likely shorten her life as well as reduce its quality.

She can regain her health without reaching an ideal weight. Even relatively small loss, like 15 pounds, relieves the burden on her joints and her heart, reduces the chances of gall bladder and liver problems, and makes GERD and esophageal cancer less likely.

She probably should *not* go on a diet. Instead, she should educate herself about food, including portion size, calories, fat content, and salt, and attempt to eat healthy for the rest of her life. Even if she does not lose an ounce, eating better will lead to better health outcomes all her life.

It is possible yes for sure, need to make lifestyle changes getting active, eating healthy. Takes time though its not going to happen overnight just like gaining weight didnt happen really fast. On a side note either way you chose I bet you are very beautiful!

I ate 10 donuts today but went on a 10 minute walk, did that burn off the calories?

Hello. I went on a 10 minute, fast paced walk. Did that burn the fat I would have gained from the 10 donuts I ate?

Not to make fun of them but to inspire them to lose weight and not look so displeasing to the eye?

    Is there a foodless diet?

I am curious if there is a diet where you don’t eat. I’m not talking about fasting, because I mean a diet that is indefinite. I know bigger people can take nutrient supplements and not eat for a long period of time to lose weight but losing weight is not my goal. I know vitamins and nutrients won’t keep me from starving, but could you supplement your food with fish oil as your caloric fat intake? Or could you just drink the meal replacement shakes with vitamins as a substitute.

What are some exercises I can do to build muscle and cardio while recovering from knee injury?

I injured my left knee and can't run or walk. I get around the house by crawling.

Any exercises I can do while recovering?

I asked a question about why I don’t lose weight faster?

I eat less than 500 calories a day and have since feb 28. All I’ve lost is 10 lbs (maybe 12 lbs, my body weight fluctuates a little) since then. I’m 5’5” and 120 lbs now.

I was told starving won’t get me weight loss. Then how does any anorexic get to under 100 lbs and it doesn’t take them years and years to do it? Do they just eat even less?

I already skip breakfast now. If I’m working I’ll eat 120 cal hummus for lunch only. Dinner is a diet frozen dinner under 300 calories. Anorexics would probably not even eat dinner?

I’m not trying to be anorexic I just want to know if that’s the difference why I can’t lose weight but they do.

Also I do exercise, I’m very active 4/7 days a week and on the other 3 days I work out for an hour and walk the dog (leisurely) for an hour also.

    Does drinking water burn calories?

    Favourite answer:

No! I know that drinking water before meals can help to eat less, and although water contains no calories it is the most essential factor for all body cells to perform its function. Water is essential for all chemical reactions and metabolic activities in every cell or organ in human body. so, I think that drinking much water is not a way to loose weight , but its a way to prevent obesity and improve all body functions.
