• I'm a fourteen year old girl, is it too late to start taking dance classes .?

The reason I'm asking is because most of the people I know who are around my age started taking them when they were like very very young so I'm worried I may not be able to start so late .

I'm mostly interested in hiphop (like Sean Lew, Kaycee Rice, Julian Deguzman, etc.) I did tap for a short period of time when I was 7, but my mom pulled me out because I would get too nervous for recitals because of my shyness and stage fright & I'm scared I will still be like that. If it's not too late for me, what tips would you have for someone starting out who is my age? Should I learn on my own, take classes, do private lessons..? And should I learn other styles as well (like ballet or anything to practice flexibility and technique and things like that)? And any tips on dealing with anxiety and shyness and becoming more confident (bc I'm honestly nervous about having to dance in front of anyone else)? Thank you :)

  • How can I get better at ballet?

I can't do pirouettes no matter how hard I try and when I try to do glissades they just look like an awkward, clumsy jump. Is it just a case of more practice or do you have to be a natural?

The tuition per month is a bit expensive for me, but this is something i really want. I was thinking of asking the studio owner if i could help out at the front desk, with little kid’s classes, or with anything they may need to help bring the price down a little? Would this be strange to do, or is it something that i should try? I wasn’t sure if this would be weird or not.

  • Are the steps in ballet hard to learn?

I suppose it depends on the person but ballet doesn't seem to come naturally to me. For example, I tried doing a glissade and it just looked like an awkward clumsy jump. Can I get better or is ballet just not for me?

Following that in high school I tried joining the beginners dance class, but later found out it was full so I couldn't join. For the longest time I've just wanted to dance, and do what I wanted since a young age and even now. Next year is my last year in highschool and auditions for the dance team are in about a month and a half. Right now I have so much free time in the summer, and I want to learn how to dance. I am so willing to committing hours upon hours to learn. I just really want to make it and I feel like this is my last chance. Tips? Thoughts?

Right now I can only afford 3 performing classes and 2 non-performing. Since I ve started late I also want to do dance like tap and jazz so in my 4 years left I have before college I could get to the intermediate/advanced classes. I also wish I could do more because all the girls at the studio I have made friends with are super rich and in a bunch of classes so I feel left out. I know I m too young to get a real job but is there any way I can save up money to maybe pay myself? Or should I reapproach my mom about asking my grandparents, because she said I could ask them to help pay but I felt bad so I said no.

  • Does anyone else experience this? Best answer 10 points.?

Best answer: not always but sometimes. just do your best. sometimes you just have to suck up to authority and have a good attitude. definitely don’t sabotage sadie. it seems like sadie is a super reliable dancer and your coach doesn’t care to much about her job.
