• Would you consider this $1200 worth of damage?

I had an accident the other day and I was told it would cost $1200 to fix. The plastic came off the left blinker but it still works, the left headlight is dented in but not broken, the grill is also dented inwards but it’s nothing that can’t be fixed with duct tape, and finally the hood of the car is slightly... show more

I know there’s no picture but I don’t see how that’s $1200 worth of damage on a 200-something Toyota Camry. There’s nothing wrong mechanically, it’s all cosmetic damage.

From being able to tighten my hand break only by lifting it few inches with nice sturdy "Ticking" sound, the first 3-4 inches became very loose and the stick started to stiffen when it's almost vertical. The workers at the car shop kept telling me that they do not know what's wrong and what caused it, and even how to fix it. Not sure if they're trying to avoid trouble and responsibility or they really don't know. Please help.

  • What does it mean if the car moves and accelerates from 1st gear, but only makes a revving noise in other gears?

Best answer: When the engine revs up but the transmission will not shift it usually means the clutch packs are slipping and cannot hold a planetary gear set from moving to make a shift.

  • What is my car's problem?

Right now when I am driving my car on the highway 60 miles per hour, I feel like the car is moving sideways while driving straight and the faster I go, the higher chance that the tires might pop out or something

  • Why does Toyota lie about its MPG?

Best answer: All companies do that. It makes them look better. It's like someone lying about their height, income, the size of their dick, etc.

  • Should do an oil & filter change for a new engine after first hour of use? or after how long? why?

Best answer: If a engine hasn’t been broken in then yes, I would Change it pretty quickly. You can get metal flakes in the oil of a brand new motor.

  • Is it okay to put a jackstand under a leaf spring?

Best answer: Not recommended, the spring is not intended to be a lift point and flexing can have a jack slip.
Directly under the axle is not usually a problem.
