  • Why are some people so obsessed with trying to stop or prevent suicides??? Don't these busybodies know everybody has to die someday?

If somebody wants to end their life, so what??? Why do you have to try to stop them? It's not your life, it's THEIR life! It's none of your damn business to be trying to stop people from killing themselves and trying to force them to live against their will. Who do you think you are, God? I don't... show more

  • Why do I feel depressed after a good event is over? Looking forward to it for months and now it’s gone!?

Best answer: That can be explained. As a proud member of the furry fandom, I like to go to furry/anthropomorphics conventions now and then. They're great fun and I always look forward to them, as do all the other attendees. But despite the fun, on the last day of the convention and especially after the closing ceremonies is over, many people start to experience what's called PCD: Post-Con Depression. It's due to people realizing that the fun is ending, they'll have to part ways with friends they haven't seen in so long, and they'll have to go home and resume their usual mundane lives. This depression is not just people being whiny but is a real psychological phenomenon that's been studied by the psychologists of the Anthropomorphics Research Project, a team of researchers from Niagara College and the University of Waterloo who have been studying the psychology of furries and the furry fandom for years.

PCD certainly isn't limited to just the furry fandom and furry conventions. It can be present in anyone of any fandom or interest attending an event they've been looking forward to (ie. Comic-Con, anime conventions, sci-fi conventions, Mardi Gras, etc.), or even something someone has been looking forward to but is not directly affiliated all the rest of the year, like an air show or a county fair.

What you can do is enjoy the fond memories you have of the event, look at and enjoy any pictures and videos you took at the event, look at and enjoy any merchandise and bling you picked up at the event, and look forward to the next event while making plans to go to it.

  • Spiritually speaking, when did offspring stop being beneficial to the family?

In a few countries, offspring still help out from a young age learning the family business. This was the norm years ago. No longer. By beneficial, I mean actively contributing to the welfare of the family.

Best answer: You are doing all this asking FAR too early. Wait until you are 18. A lot can change in a couple of years. Keep your plans alive. They sound OK to me and you shouldn't go starting a family just because your parents want grandchildren. You start a family because YOU want children. If delaying procreation upsets your parents......tough luck on them. Don't have guilt trips. When you are an adult your life is your own. You sound sensitive enough to sugar any bitter pills you give your parents. THEY have to learn that you aren't a little kid anymore and their responsibility is handed over to you for yourself. Being an upright and kindly human being is the greatest gift you can give them and ultimately, when you do decide to stop travelling and settle down with a family (in your own time) your parents will be ultimately overjoyed. Good luck. Keep the plans going but hold off doing anything until you've done your college and turned 18.

Best answer: Firstly, Alexander the Great was not your everyday run-of-the-mill 33 year-old. He was born a prince and became king when he was a teenager. His upbringing was anything but standard for the time, his wealth, power and prestige afforded him opportunities that few people his age could possibly dream of, including an education that even powerful and wealthy people living today would be at a loss to compete with. Some of the greatest thinkers of his or any other era served as his teachers. Secondly, the average life expectancy was considerably lower in Alexander's time than it is today. Being 33 years old in his day would be the equivalent of being in ones 50s or 60s today. Lastly, if Alexander the Great had been able to avail himself of many of the amenities young people have at their disposal in these modern times, he most certainly would have done so. He marched from Macedonia to India across burning deserts and lofty mountains and through dense jungles, but he was a human being.
