For nearly two years, I've put my back into my workplace, staying late, covering for my coworkers frequent call-outs and working almost every position. Last December, I was promoted to shift leader and got a pay raise. Everything was going well but a couple of weeks ago, I was demoted and my pay cut out of the blue because they got some new managers. I had not heard a single complaint about my work, so I'm not sure why they demoted me. At any rate, I've since refused to work any more hours than I'm scheduled. I leave at the time I was scheduled to leave and my boss is getting upset with me. Do they deserve my loyalty if they aren't going to show me any? After spending the better part of two years putting everything I had into that place and this is how they treat me?

People may be able to deal with it but I cant! they have me on grill with no protection and I get small burns sometimes and that may not seem like a big deal. like steve foreal just stop being a pu$$y and take it like a man, be a man and just do it for the f*cking money but NO I CANNOT DO THIS. Im not going to put my body on the line for a mcdonalds! my back hurts, my feet hurt, I go home and barely get to do anything anymore and when I am home I just soak in a hot tub and shower then sleep! then the next day I wake, i TRY TO WAKE UP. I try to wake up early but now that ive been working in that dam environment i feel so pessimistic all the time now and i don't to wake up to go to a place i don't want to, even if its for money anymore! I CANT! Its driving me crazy, I have a little brother i have to take care of and my mom is ill and i need to be a man and take care of them but i.. tsk nvm.. whos gonna help me anyways.. i always feel alone.. f*ck this, f*ck that.. i just want to go away I was thinking about applying for Alorica (call center) and just working there. its a call center that helps people over the phone. stupid answers yahoo wont let me type more than this.. smh

If you're a trainee at McDonald's or the like, you most likely will get paid....if you're learning the ropes of journalism, you probably won't. So, it really comes down to where you're working. It will be discussed - or at least in your paperwork - whether you get paid training or not. If you don't read your contract, that's your own fault.

This is only my second week at McDonald's and I didn't expect the treatment I've been getting at all. They have me stay hours later than I'm scheduled and even get mad at me when I say "Sorry, I need to leave at the time I was scheduled to leave today". There have been a couple of days where they did not give me any kind of break. This week, I came into work and saw that the manager changed my schedule with white-out and a pen... I was originally supposed to work 11 AM - 4 PM on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, but she changed it so that I worked 7 AM - 4 PM (9 hours) on Monday, and then 7 AM - 2 PM (7 hours) on Friday (tomorrow) which I originally had off. The 11 AM - 4 PM shifts on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday were still there. Because she did this with white-out, the time-clock computer today said that I'm not scheduled to come in until next week... I had plans tonight that I've had for a long time but now I will have to pull an all-nighter in order to get to work at 7 and I thought I could do it but to be honest it's almost 5 AM, 2 hours before this unofficial shift is supposed to start, and I'm just exhausted. How much trouble will I get for not showing up to this shift? Will they even notice since it is not in the computer system, only in pen? I was thinking about just going to sleep and then if they call me, just say that I slept in and that I can still come in.. Is that a good plan?

It may have been better applicants. If you said 50 interviews, that would definitely be something about your interview.

Ultimately, you cannot do anything about better applicants but you can work on improving your interview skills. Practice is the only way to get better and you've already had 6 practice sessions. Bring a pen and take notes about the interviews; what did they ask, how did you respond, how many people, any odd questions? If you have a resume that's getting you interviews, you should have some skills and should be able to analyze your interviews effectively.
