  • Difference between Bryozoan and Tunicate zooids?

I'm studying for a biology final right now and I have been having a hard time with the zooids of both of these phylums. My questions are

How are zooids and colonies organized? How do these animals feed? Is there zooid polymorphism and what kind? Do zooids coordinate/collaborate in certain structures and functions?

Also what are the major differences between both of these zooids. Are they anything like the sponge zooids?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

  • How do you solve this sampling problem?

You collected a stratified random sample of oyster density (per m2) in a creek off of Cedar Key. You strata were broken into sub-tidal to mean low tide (low), mean low tide to mean tidal (mid), and mean tidal to mean high tide (high). In the area you surveyed low=1000m2, mid=200m2, high=300m2. You use the following number of 1m2 quadrats in each area low=10, mid=20, high=15. You calculate mean density in each area to be low=12.3, mid=35.6, high= 16.7 with variances of low=36, mid=30, high= 24. What is the overall mean density of oysters. Report your answer to 1 decimal place.

  • What device relates to the laws of relativity?

I have to write a three page paper on a device or piece of technology that relates to Laws of Relativity or Quantum Mechanics. I am having a difficult time really coming up with a device that would make a great topic. Does anybody have any good ideas and if so how does it relate to Quantum Mechanics or the Laws of Relativity.

  • How do you solve this question?

A starship moving toward Earth with a speed of 0.70 c launches a shuttle craft in the forward direction. The shuttle, which has a proper length of 12.8m , is only 6.28m long as viewed from Earth.

    Q) What is the speed of the shuttle relative to the starship?

Any help would be greatly appreciated. I honestly have no clue how to do this one. Please help! :(

  • Any ideas on this Physics paper?

So I have to write a Physics paper on this topic:

Pick a device and describe how it works using the laws of electricity and magnetism.

I have an idea in mind but I would like to see if anybody has any ideas on what I can write this paper about and how the device actually uses Physics?

  • How do you solve this problem?

A convex lens with f1= 20.2cm is mounted 39.2cm to the left of a concave lens. When an object is placed 30.1cm to the left of the convex lens, a real image is formed 59.9cm to the right of the concave lens.

    Q) What is the focal length f2 of the concave lens?

  • Difficult Physics problem?

For safety reasons, electrical codes have been established that limit the amount of current a wire of a given size can carry. For example, an 18-gauge (cross-sectional area = 1.17 mm2 ), rubber-insulated extension cord with copper wires can carry a maximum current of 5.0 A.

    Q) Find the voltage drop in a 12−ft , 18-gauge extension cord carrying a current of 5.0 A. (Note: In an extension cord, the current must flow through two lengths-down and back.)
