If I send the amp 9v by using a line driver to amplifier the head unit signal, the gain will basically be set to 0. Can the incoming signal be so high that even with the gain set at its lowest will not be low enough and not match therefore leading to distortion? Or is a 0 gain basically guaranteed to be distortion free?? Thanks for your input.1 AnswerCar Audio3 days ago
Do the oem key fobs still work? or are they rendered useless by the aftermarket alarm? The aftermarket alarm system has its own key fobs. Thanks for your replies.1 AnswerCar Audio2 months ago
I'm changing the side post battery to a top post battery and the main cables are too short. Can I just splice an equal gauge using a butt connector, heat shrink and be done? I've read where people are somehow against this and instead recommend I change out the entire cable for a longer one, or use a distribution block. How is a distribution block any different than just butt connecting another cable to it? It makes no logical sense to me. Thanks for your help. Cheers.9 AnswersMaintenance & Repairs2 months ago
On mobileinformationlabs website it calculates 15.5 inches, however if I increase the port diameter from 4 to 8 inches it says that now the length should be 68 inches. If I reduce the diameter to a 1in pipe which IMO would be completely ridiculous it says the vent length is only HALF AN INCH!? So basically this makes no sense to me whatsoever. How would a 1in diameter pipe half an inch long be what is needed to tune to 35hz? and yet when I make the diameter 8 in it says i need over 5 ft in length?2 AnswersEngineering2 months ago
I have a subwoofer box with net internal volume of 6ft3. Im going to use (4) 6in aero ports. How long do they have to be for 35hz tuning? ty?
Its a simple rectangular box for (4) 10in drivers. Ive tried to use online calculators but their numbers make no sense, exp 12volt calculator said for a 6in diameter and box vol of 6 cu ft, tuned to 35hz the port length should be 5.97inches. There's no way thats right. Other online calculators give equally nonsensical calculations. Digital Designs said for a 35-40Hz I need 96 sq inch vent 22in long. Since Im going to use aeroports ie pvc pipes im having a hard time figuring it out. Thank you for your help.1 AnswerCar Audio2 months ago
I have a spray can of plain flat black, is that just as good as using dielectric grease after I secure the grounding bolt to the bare frame to protect against corrosion? Thanks2 AnswersMaintenance & Repairs3 months ago
Is there any difference to putting all the subs in one box vs each in their own? Im having trouble finding a quad box but singles and doubles are plenty. Is there any difference? Would having them all in one big box produce better bass due to the larger volume echoing? Thanks2 AnswersCar Audio5 months ago
I was going to buy a Taramps MD 5K full range monoblock. Can I connect all my speakers to it both mids and subs? (2) American bass xfl 1000w rms dvc 4ohms connected in parallel as a 1 ohm load plus 4 mid range coaxial 150w svc 4 ohms rms also connected in parallel as a 1 ohm load. Is this possible?3 AnswersCar Audio5 months ago
In my small town there are several cable providers, they offer dish, direct tv, and cable. However I have a decently powerful antenna and there are ZERO over the air channels. Are these companies required to broadcast over the air?1 AnswerTVs5 months ago

Scenario: I'm meet a new person, I don't know them, to me its not particularly "nice" or "happy" or "pleasurable" etc.....What can I use instead of the fluffy lie bs of the common term "nice to meet you." Thanks.6 AnswersWords & Wordplay5 months ago
How do manufacturers determine how much volume the enclosure for the subwoofer needs to be? For example when they recommend that this particular subwoofer needs an enclosure having a volume of 3-5 cubic feet how did they determine that range??2 AnswersCar Audio5 months ago

Which would sound louder??? (1) American bass 12 in xfl 1000w rms vs (4) Kenwood 12 in 300w rms each. Amp would be 3k.?
The reason im asking is AB $200 or I can buy Kenwood (4) $50. Trying to decide which would be better.3 AnswersCar Audio8 months ago
I have (4) 75W RMS 4ohm speakers.
I have a 300W RMS 4 channel amplifier, that will produce 40W x 4 at 4ohms, 75W x 4 at 2ohms and 150W x 2 at 4ohms bridged. Amp is not 1ohm stable. From what I can tell its basically impossible to maximize speaker RMS because of the amp requirements and ohm minimums. Am I right? Am I basically stuck with the maximum RMS being by wiring each speaker to each channel at only getting 40RMS? Thanks for your help in advance, I appreciate the input. -Cheers3 AnswersEngineering9 months ago
