• What should I do about an inferior tire being used to replace mine (damaged/warrantied)?

I purchased four Goodyear American Eagle performance tires for my Grand Prix a bit less than 2 years ago, they had a 70,000 mile warranty on them. When I took them in for a rotation (yes, first time in those 2 years - bad I know) they brought to my attention that the edge of the inner sidewall was ripped at the rim, it looked like someone had ripped... show more

When I took them in for a rotation (yes, first time in those 2 years - bad I know) they brought to my attention that the edge of the inner sidewall was ripped at the rim, it looked like someone had ripped a flap out of my tire. I had purchased a tire warranty to replace any defective ones when I bought the tires. I have ALWAYS had trouble keeping enough air in that particular tire since I bought them. Since this couldn't be repaired, they said they would replace the tire at a discount. Apparently my tire was not in stock, so the cashier just told them to put on a Goodyear Viva 2. I asked her if it was comparable to my current performance tires in mileage/warranty/tread/quality and she claimed the only difference was tread pattern. Being tired and having a cartload of groceries that were melting, I said if thats so just put it on. When I got home, I started looking things up and found its only a low-quality passenger tire marketed exclusively by WalMart and made in China with a 50,000 mile warranty. ALL reviews stated the tire goes bad within 6 months, in some cases the sidewall more or less melted. Would I be in the right to confront a manager about this to have them order the exact tire I had on my car in the first place?

  • Why didn't my employer of 6 months suddenly not hold out Federal taxes from my check?

I've worked for the same company for 6 months, and up until this past paycheck they've taken out my normal federal taxes. It's always been low (around 30, but I only make about 630 pre-tax every two weeks) and I just found out that they made a mistake in my W2 submission (saying I have dependents, and I do not), but this past week, I... show more

My manager at work noticed the same thing, and another branch manager in the same company did as well. We called around and none of the other employees seem to have that problem. What could this be? I contacted our payroll and they basically told us it isn't their problem, that they don't design the tax tables, etc, they couldn't help us unless we wanted to take out extra and re-submit our W2 forms. Any ideas??

We recently purchased a B&G macaw from his previous owner. He's 3 years old. For the most part, he is well behaved and I realize he is still getting accustomed to our home and our other cockatiel and the cat (though she is absolutely terrified of him and avoids the living room). We have managed to get him to stop screaming while we're in the room...at first he would scream if he heard a loud noise on TV, etc. Now, though, if we leave the room or the house, he screams so loudly we can hear him outside down the street. It's unbearable being in the house when he screams. I don't want to re-inforce the behavior by running in the room and paying him attention when he screams, but I don't know what else to do. He won't stop until we've come in his line of sight or until 5 or 10 minutes after we've gone away. It's to the point that my husband is ready to get rid of him because of this. How can I make it stop??

  • Do spray deterrants for cats (scratching) work?

The problem is that the cats want to DESTROY my beautiful white couch by scratching up the arms and front and sides...even when I smack them with a flip flop or yell at them they will not CEASE. My question is whether or not the spray deterrants work? I've heard from time to time that the citrus sprays are good to spray on countertops and on good upholstered furniture to keep them away, but I'm not sure if I want to waste even more money on things that don't work. Can you recommend brands that work best? Price isn't really a worry.

I bought a 750 piece puzzle (a RoseArt - Crystals & Candlelight artwork puzzle by Christian Riese Lassen called "Parentheses in Eternity) last week and I've got it put together. I noticed a problem though! There are three pieces missing from the puzzle all three in a particular area. I have three pieces left over. The three pieces left do not fit into the spaces where missing pieces should go, but the design on the picture is the same. I've checked the puzzle over and over for mistaken placement, but it's all correct! Does anyone know what I should do or how I can get in touch with the puzzle maker? I planned to frame this one.
