Little Ms Sunshine
Whatever I say is perceived to be a personal attack on her, when that's not my intention at all. Up until now, I've been the only one in the office and the company has grown to the point where I cannot do it alone anymore, so we found a person whom we believed would be a perfect fit. I have made every attempt to let her develop on her own, but she is giving misinformation to customers, and customers who have questions she should be able to answer, she's passing on to me (usually when the answer is "no.") It turns out, after a month-and-a-half, that she's not such a perfect fit afterall. Can this situation be salvaged?5 AnswersAdministrative and Office Support1 decade ago

I am concerned about the actions, or lack thereof, of an "independent contractor" of the company, who says he wants to become an employee. He angers and disappoints the owner frequently, but always manages to talk his way out of it. The owner is seriously targeting him to become an employee in a few months.
When told he would need to take a drug test, he said he would have to have advance notice because he "smokes a little pot." The owner agreed to give him time, because he said he was "quitting." I suspect he may do other drugs - he's in his mid-20's and young people don't seem to think it's any big deal to do crack and heroine these days.
I am not an owner, just the office manager. It seems I am always having to apologize to customers for things he said he would do but didn't, etc. He does good work most of the time. and the customers he doesn't neglect are frequently complimenting him. The jobs he doesn't show up for, though, I think are his way of punishing the boss.6 AnswersPsychology1 decade ago
These are narrow, about 18" wide and 5 feet tall. Standard 8-ft ceiling. 3 windows on side wall, 4 on street side, with 3-1/2 feet between them. 1 window on each wall gets covered by a door when it's open, so nothing that sticks out very far will work. Privacy needed, but don't want to loose the daylight.
Have left the previous owners mini-blinds up there "temporarily" for 5 years - time to do something wonderful. But everything I come up with costs about $200 per window and that's too much times seven!!!
I am crafty, and my style is traditional-transitional-eclectic, so I'm open to suggestions. Any great ideas?4 AnswersDecorating & Remodeling1 decade ago
If the days are getting longer, why are we turning the clocks forward? It seems like we should be turning them back instead. Why are we doing it sooner this year? Who started it? Is it worldwide? Does it save utility consumption?2 AnswersOther - Society & Culture1 decade ago
My sister & brother-in-law want us to join them on a cruise, but having a virus from it doesn't seem like much fun... How common is it to get sick?14 AnswersCruise Travel1 decade ago
My ornamental cabbage have lost their attractiveness and are loosing leaves, even though it's still cold here (in Houston, Texas). Do I dig 'em up and throw them away? Is there some way to propogate them?3 AnswersGarden & Landscape1 decade ago
I'm collecting blue & white dishes, vases, etc and want to decorate my dining room around them. Any ideas for a color scheme? How about ways to display them? I want to add more as time goes by.7 AnswersDecorating & Remodeling1 decade ago
