I was just realizing that most of my favorite rappers talk about cocaine and crime in at least 85% of their rhymes. Even Nas, who's my GOAT, rapped about weed at least once on every song on Illmatic, which is a certified classic. Like if you can directly relate to a rap song, i.e. Stan in the Eminem song, that's one thing. But people ride artists like Drake, Kid Cudi and even 2pac to some extent b/c they rap about emotions and stuff.
I think people like Pac, Nas, and Jay-Z are good because they express themselves through dope bars and put the listener right in the situation. I mean, when you have suburban kids acting ghetto, you have to give the rap artists credit because they glamorized the hood life through their dope lyrics enough for suburb kids to think it was cool. Anyone else agree?
