### any one with solutions to these please?

I am having problems solving these questions.. any assistance will be greatly appreciated

Q1. Find the particular solution for each of the following differential equations:

a) dx/dy =3t, x(0) =1 b) dy/dx =6x^2/y, y (0) = 1

c) dy/dt = 3 sin t /y, y(0) = 2 d) dy/dx = e^-x/y , y(0) =3

e) dx/dt = 4sin t + 6cos 2t/x , x(0) = 2 f) dx/dt = ln t, x(1) =1

g) dx/dt = t(x-2), x(0) =5

Thanx a lot guys

1 AnswerSecurity10 years ago### Any1 with help please?

I have downloaded microsoft 2010 and deleted the old version on my computer which is the 2000 version. After doing this i noticed that any pdf file i try to open on my computer does not open and the pdf saved file has no logo in it which means no version for it to open with. I also found out that all my saved work on the computer like letters and all that will not open instead a message shows up as ' This file does not have a association with it for performing this action. Create an association in the folder options control panel' and when i try to follow that action i dont see any solution from there or any list of programm that will include windows 2010. I really need help on how to solve these issues as soon as possible and i will appreciate any help. Thanks all.

Solve the following differential equations for y, with the initial conditions as shown.

d^2y/dx^2 + 6dy/dx + 13y =0 given x = 0, when y = 4 and dy/dx =0

USE FORMULAS *

y=c1e^p1x + c2e^p2x

y = c1e^ax + c2xe^ax

y = e^ax ( c1 cosbx + c2sinbx)

Thanx peeps!

1)

The centrifugal force, in Newtons , experienced by a body rotating with constant angular velocity about a fixed axis is given by

-mw x (w x r)

where w is the angular velocity in radians per second and r is the position vector in metres of the body relative to the origin.

Determine the centrifugal force vector and its magnitude when

m =5kg, r = 3i+6j+5k , w = j+3k r/s.

2) The modulus of rigidity G is given by

G =R^4θ/L

Where R is the radius , θ the angle of twist and L the lenght. Find the approximate percentage change in G when R is increased by 1.5% and θ is reduced by 5%.

A package contains 10 components and inspection shows that 4 have been damaged during transit. If 5 components are drawn at random , find the probability that

i) Only one is damaged

ii) Two or more are damaged

2. A manufacturer produces items whose labeled weights are normally distributed with mean 204gm and standard deviation √3 gm^2

i) What proportion of items weighs less than 200gm?

ii) What is the probability that an item weighs between 200 and 205gm?

iii) The lightest 5% and heaviest 5% of the items produced are unusable and must be discarded. Below what weight and above what weight will the items be discarded?

Cheers guys!

1.

The probability that a machine has a lifespan of more than 5 years is 0.8. Ten machines are chosen at random. What is the probability that

a) 8 machines have a lifespan of more than 5 years

b) all machines have a lifespan of more than 5 years

c) at least 8 machines have a lifespan of more than 5 years

d) no more than 2 machines have a lifespan of more than 5 years

2. The lenght of items produced by a machine are known to be normally distributed with a mean of 5cm and a standard deviation of 0.2cm. Estimate the following

i)The numbers of items with lenght 5.3cm or more in a batch of 1000 items from this airline.

ii)The number of items with lenght between 5.0 and 5.4 in the same batch of 1000 items

The radius of a cone is increasing at a rate of 1mm/s and its height is increasing at a rate of 2mm/s.

Determine,correct to 3 decimal places, the rate at which the volume is increasing in cm^3/s when the radius is 1.2cm and the height is 3.6cm

Cheers all!

A sample of 2000 adults was asked whether or not they have ever used a particular airline.

The following table gives a two way classification of the responses

Have used this airline Have never used this airline

Male 300 900

Female 200 600

Q. Suppose one adult is selected at random from these 2000 adults. Find the probability that the adult

i) Has never used this airline

ii)Is a male or has used this airline

iii)is female and has used this airline

Thanks guys!

A machine produces components having a mean lenght of 15cm. As a result of measuring samples of these components, it is found that the standard deviation is 0.2centimetres. A test is carried out on a sample to check whether the data on the lenghts of the components is normally distributed and it is found out that it is.

i)What is the probability that a component has a lenght greater than the average?

ii) What is the probability that a component has a lenght between 14.95 and 15.6cm?

iii)Between what two lenghts do 95% of the components lie?

Solve the following differential equations for y, with the initial conditions as shown

1) 6d^2y/dx^2 + 5dy/dx - 6y =0 given that y=0 when x=0 and dy/dx = 1/2 when x =0

2) d^2y/dx^2 + 6dy/dx + 13y =0 given x=0 when y =4 and dy/dx =0

3) d^2y/dx^ -6dy/dx + 9y =0 given x=0 when y =2 and dy/dx =0

4) 4d^2y/dx^2 - 5dy/dx + y =0 given that when x =0, y=1 and dy/dx =-2

using formulas

FORMULAS:

Two real roots p1 and p2

y= C1e^p1x + C2e^p2x

One real root

y =C1e^ax + C2xe^ax

Two complex roots a+/- bj

y=e^ax (C1cosbx + C2sin bx)

***

NOTE:

I already solved no 4)

got -3, 4 and y= 4e^1/4x -3e^x

i got c1 =-6 for Q 3 thats whre i got stocked

i got p=6+/-4j/2 for Q 2) Thats whre i got stocked.

The rest i cant do!

Can any one help me out please?

Any help will be much appreciated thanks!
