Did you know that when the Bible says it is destined for man to die once and after that a judgement. Hebrews 9:27. What it's saying is that man dies once because of the Adamic death and after that unrepentant man dies by God's hands by being thrown into the symbolic lake of fire which signifies eternal destruction or second death. Why do you criticize Jehovah's Witnesses for disobeying authorities and not going to war. And now you are also disobeying the authorities by not obeying the order of social distancing and putting at risk the life's of innocent children, elderly and sick ridden people and others ?8 AnswersReligion & Spirituality5 days ago
Israel has long welcomed evangelicals’ political and financial support, especially as their influence over the White House has risen during the Trump administration, and it has largely shrugged off concerns about any hidden religious agenda.
But most Jews view any effort to convert them to Christianity as deeply offensive, a legacy of centuries of persecution and forced conversion at the hands of Christian rulers. In part because of those sensitivities, evangelical Christians, who generally believe salvation can only come through Jesus and preach the Gospel worldwide, rarely target Jews9 AnswersReligion & Spirituality2 months ago

What’s really wrong with the Big Bang theory?
There are some problems with the Big Bang theory, which the authors gleefully discuss in the last chapter. “It’s not clear whether it explains why galaxies are arranged as they are, and it doesn’t quite predict the correct cosmic abundances of the elements,” said Lewis. “There is a big question mark at the start of the Universe as well—it looks like a beginning, but our theories get a bit fuzzy.” The Big Bang theory also requires the existence of mysterious material called dark matter and dark energy.20 AnswersReligion & Spirituality3 months ago
No truly accomplished New Testament scholar, for instance, believes that later Christianity’s opulent mythology of God’s eternal torture chamber is clearly present in the scriptural texts. It’s entirely absent from St. Paul’s writings; the only eschatological fire he ever mentions brings salvation to those whom it tries (1 Corinthians 3:15). Neither is it found in the other New Testament epistles, or in any extant documents (like the Didache) from the earliest post-apostolic period. There are a few terrible, surreal, allegorical images of judgment in the Book of Revelation, but nothing that, properly read, yields a clear doctrine of eternal torment. Even the frightening language used by Jesus in the Gospels, when read in the original Greek, fails to deliver the infernal dogmas we casually assume to be there.

The Christian Bible, including the New Testament, has no trinitarian statements or speculations concerning a trinitary deity.”—Encyclopædia Britannica.
“The doctrine of the trinity . . . is not a product of the earliest Christian period, and we do not find it carefully expressed before the end of the second century.”—Library of Early Christianity—Gods and the One God.
“In order to articulate the dogma of the Trinity, the [Catholic] Church had to develop her own terminology with the help of certain notions of philosophical origin.”—Catechism of the Catholic Church11 AnswersReligion & Spirituality4 months ago
That gives the reason why the name Jehovah was ommitted from the Bible.
Several centuries before the Christian era the name Jhvh had ceased to be commonly used by the Jews. Some of the later writers in the Old Testament employ the appeliative Elohim, God, prevailingly or exclusively: a collection of Psalms (Ps. xlii. lxxxiii.) was revised by an editor who changed the Jhvh of the authors into Elohim (see e.g. xlv. 7; xlviii. 10; 1. 7; ii. 14); observe also the frequency of "the Most High," the "God of Heaven," "King of Heaven," in Daniel, and of "Heaven" in First Maccabees. The oldest Greek versions (Septuagint), from the third century B.C., consistently use Κύριος, Lord, where the Hebrew has Jhvh, corresponding to the substitution of Adonay for Jhvh in reading the original; in books written in Greek in this period (e.g. Wisdom, 2 and 3 Maccabees), as in the New Testament, Κύριος takes the place of the name of God. Josephus, who as a priest knew the pronunciation of the name, declares that religion forbids him to divulge it; Philo calls it ineffable, and says that it is lawful for those only whose ears and tongues are purified by wisdom to hear and utter it in a holy place (that is, for priests in the Temple); and in another passage, commenting on Lev. xxiv. 55 seq.: "If any one, I do not say should blaspheme against the Lord of men and gods, but should even dare to utter his name unseasonably, let him expect the penalty of death."12 AnswersReligion & Spirituality4 months ago
