I just came back from Turkey! Yes, there are, but I thought most of the more picturesque areas were on the European side of Turkey. The Old City section of Istanbul has some of the famous structures such as the Hagia Sophia and Blue Mosque. Definitely take photos when the huge fountain in-between the two erupts! The Basilica Cisterns are nearby as well, which look very cool lighted up in the dark underground.

Also, make sure to come back at night to Sultanahmet to see so many festivities: I saw whirling dervishes and folk musicians playing for the huge crowds of people. And Blue Mosque and Hagia Sophia look stunning lit up at night too.

Make sure to take a boat ride down the Bosphorous, especially during sunset to capture the waters and the rich houses which Istanbul is known for. If you have time, venture to the Prince's Islands for beautiful nature photos, and a MUST is Cappadocia, for the most unique and stunning geological formations.
