If you qualify to immigrate to either Australia or Canada, then you can anticipate a hugely long wait.

Canada is dealing not only with close to one million (yes, that's 1,000,000) applications but a dreadful economic recession. We have hundreds of thousands of our own people who are unemployed. That means that whatever few jobs there may be will not go to foreigners but to our own citizens.

Please, it is not that you yourself would not be welcome in Canada but that now is just not the time to try and apply.

Incidentally, in English, the names of countries are spelled with a capital letter.

I've been to Singapore a number of times and been to Australia twice on extended holidays (over 2 months each time) and from what I can see, you are fine in Singapore. There is nothing in either of those two countries, other then the countries themselves, that you can't get in Singapore.

BUT, the choice is yours. Just be aware that there is a very long waiting list of a couple of years in order to be admitted into Canada. All of the info you need can be found at www.cic.gc.ca
