How much can you haggle with Honda?
What percentage of the MSRP should I expect the price to be for a '10 Honda Fit?

It's not a matter of percentage. The car has a certain amount of markup. Find out what the invoice is & the MSRP is. The difference is the markup. I always offer invoice when buying. If the dealer has but a few Fit's on their lot, they have the advantage. If they have many of them, you have the advantage. It's all about supply & demand. Be ready with facts. Visit other Honda dealers & see how many Fit's they have. Go back to your original dealer you wish to buy from. Tell the sales mgr that you know for a fact this dealer has this many cars. If they don't sell you a Fit close to invoice, you will visit them & see if they will. Tell the sales mgr that you have no problem going somewhere else for a deal. Now either we can do this here, or I can do it some place else. I love throwing that fact around. I don't take it personally. To me it's business. www.Edmunds.com is a great web site to find out how much a cars invoice is. G'luck!

- Thanks, I wish I had read Phil's email about the floor mats. I never even noticed. I truthfully told them I had another offer for $500 less than the sticker and the took it down 500. I'm also guessing I got about $400 more than my trade in was worth.

Your issue is the car you want to buy. The fit has a *total* markup of around $600. Trying to haggle for a Fit is an exercise in frustration. you'll be able to buy one for MSRP, perhaps $200 off. Instead of asking for a "deal", ask for free floor mats (it's the only Honda that makes them an option, and other things thrown in.
