I need 2-bedroom apt or house which is not too expensive and i'm on local package. Also I have a 11-yr son which should be in Grade 5. Which school is good to enrol? How about a car, can I rent if so how much or if buy how much? Any information to help me move will be helpful.

Please clarify your post.

Do you mean you are moving to North Sydney OR North of Sydney?

North Sydney is a suburb.

North of Sydney is an area that runs for around 40 kms from the suburb of North Sydney (on the Lower North Shore), up to the suburb of Hornsby (on the Upper North Shore)

What suburb is your new place of work at?

As there is NOT much point me suggesting that you live in Crows Nest (near the suburb of North Sydney)…….. if your job is located in Hornsby.

The Northern Train Line runs from Central Station to Hornsby and then up to The Central Coast.

The trains are frequent, so if you don’t have a car, best to choose a suburb that has the train running through it.

Driving in Sydney is a nightmare at the best of times and free parking is extremely limited – so living somewhere along the major train or bus route would be your best bet.

Loads of boys schools along the train route too.

If you could please edit your post and name the suburb where your place of work will be, I will be able to help you better.

This place is good for short-tem accommodation, until you can find a more permanent place to live:

Hi i live in Sydney's south western suburbs. North sydney through my perspective offers great quality of life. But keep in mind that these areas near the beach or inner city suburbs cost a fair bit. two bed rooms apartments in these area's will be a list 500,000 or more. (450,000 american dollar). houses should be a million or plus but they are usually quiet small and very old . In sydney western suburbs homes are generally quit cheaper but be aware that these are the most disadvantage areas in sydney. try looking up homes or apartments in the st geroge area.
