Siem Reap is the must go of Cambodia as its home to the land once captial of the ancient Khmer Empire dating back to the 12th century. North of Siem Reap is where Angkor wat is located, the 8th wonder of the world and the worlds largest religious building. The best time to see this is during the sun rise as the sun rises above its tallest tower as you stand on the main cause way to the central temple. Angkor Thom is a temple complex near by. Its surrounded by a large 2km wall and passing through its towering gate ways is a buzz. It holds a temple of buddha face carvings, a step pyramid and others. More in the area show the test of time and the battle between mans creation vs nature when large tree roots have completly grown over the structures. But to see every temple in the vast area will take you weeks if going all day every day, theres that many. So if you want to be tomb raider then your best geting a three day pass and hiring a moto driver for $10us per day. He will know where to go, where to get your pass and act as a defacto tour guide.
