Would I have any problem at the airport if I bring in food to Turkey?

Hi I was wondering if it'll be a problem at the Ataturk airport if I bring in lots of packed spices and instant japanese food etc? Do they allow food to be brought it through the checked in luggage system? Pls advise thanks.

I highly doubt it. Usually when you go through customs in Istanbul you either go through the "to declare" or "nothing to declare" routes. If you go through the "nothing to declare" route they usually don't stop you unless they suspect something. That is, it's all done with random checking. If you are stopped they look for the usual illegal items I've never heard of food being a problem. In fact as long as it's properly packaged its never an issue. If you're taking in boxes and boxes of food then that may attract their attention and they may inquire about it.
