As far weather is concerned, October- November is the best season for holidays and sightseeing in Mauritius. October (and Christmas- New year) is the peak tourist season.

July-August are cooler while Jan- Febr are very hot and humid.

Weather in the Western side is usually a bit better than in the Eastern side.

India resort is located in the Morne area (Southwest) and Movenpick in the Bel Ombre area (South - Southwest).

The Bel Ombre area is a rather new tourist destination. To some extent, Indian resort is also rather new (the other resorts in Le Morne have been operating for a longer time). That is why both resorts may be cheaper. Also because several Mauritius attractions are located in other areas.

Recommendation would depend on what you are expecting to do in Mauritius.

Beach holiday only ( then, OK for various areas incl. Le Morne, Flic en Flac, or Mont Choisy), Sightseeing and discovering the island (then, probably preference for the Northwestern or Western areas), Golf (Eastern Side),...
