Seychelles History regarding the Queen, the coconut, and the turtles?

I visited Port Victoria on Mahe Seychelles in the 1970's. Can anyone tell me the stories about the currency and the queen and the palm leaves? Also discirbe the Seychellian coconut and why it is so unique, and tell me how the Gian Sea Turtle population is doing.
