What should be the minimum salary for a civil engineer to live a happy life in Dubai and qatar?

I have got a job offer in Dubai with salary of 4000 Dir. + accom+ Transport. Please tell me is it enough? will i be able to save some money?How is life in Dubai?

Dear Akela,

You are provided Salary + Accommodation + Transportation, so you need to worry only on food + miscellaneous expenses. Hopefully you will be able to manage it for AED 1000-1500. But, it will be purely depends on your spending nature.

Thus you may be able to save AED 2500 - 3000 per month.
The salary given is not a good salary for Civil Engineer. The normal starting salary will be AED 6000, so negotiate for that.
Here you will find a good life, hopefully. Now the summer... too hot... and relative humidity is high... so little bit tough...
But after 2 months it will be ok...

Same thing is applicable for Qatar also, it is the same living costs, but international telephone cost will be much higher in Qatar (to India it is 3:60 QAR per minute)
