Is messenger plus live a virus?

the "sponsor" is the virus
do not install the sponsor which is in messenger plus live

Hello! There are many types of viruses. Trojan is one of the deadliest and having many of these pests can make your computer dead! Many sites already have downloads that contain viruses that can sneak to whatever personal information you have in the computer. So, I suggest getting the real yahoo messenger in the yahoo main site. If you downloaded some programs download a scanner and scan it to make sure there is no virus. That way you still have time to delete it. Especially file sharing programs (limewire,bearshare etc.) Hope this helps!

SiteAdvisor says it is dangerous because of the advertising program included, but there is an easy way to get around it :)

When installing, there will be an option which asks you whether you want to install the sponsor program, just select the button that says you don't want to participate, and continue the installation like normal..

No it is not a virus. It is exactly what it says...a trojan, a Swizzor I think. If you do not un-check the advertising "sponsor" during the install process you will receive a ton of pop-up ads.

Just carefully read everything during the install process and act accordingly and you will be fine.
