Any guerilla organisation who rebel against a legitimately elected government, I am against it. It do not help towards that country's prosperity or elevate its living condition, but depreciate the country means of supporting itself and overseas invest will dwindle to nothingness.
As for the FARC, they had been fighting since 1948 and 50 years on, they are still fighting. If the Colombians are accepting them to represent them, then they should have had a legitimate representative in the parlimen already. Unfortunately, the victims here are all the rural citizens who are sandwiched between the rebels and the government soldiers. The FARC impressed them as freedom fighters and the soldiers look at them with suspicious mind.
To me all insurgents, rebels, guerillas, etc are all the manipulation of their minds by their leaders. Honestly, if their leaders are very correct, righteous, visionary, or what have you, he should already leading the country not sacrificing young lives who don't even know what they are putting their lives for.
I would rather see politicians fight it out in parlimen than spilling their discontent in the streets and victimised the general public whom they swore to represent.
