Im having a reddish brown vaginal discharge. What could it be?
I had my period about two weeks ago. I've been on birth control since Feb. or March; and my sex life is pretty much nonexistent since my daughter was born in October. Im on the pill to help with the painful periods.
Today, I woke up and used the bathroom and noticed this brownish reddish discharge. I, of course, put on a sanitary pad, and went on about my day. It seems to still be coming.
I know I've been majorly stressed lately, and I know that can affect a normal period. For the most part, Im very regular with my periods.
I also know that being much more active can affect your period, and for the past two weeks, I have been either going nonstop, or fighting a very bad cold.
I was in the heat MOST OF THE DAY yesterday, dealing with a yardsale and the clean up of that.
I just wonder if any of these things could have an affect and cause this.
Any ideas?

I've had this before when i thought my period was all gone, but then maybe a wk or two later it comes out kinda browish and ugly. I've never had a kid, but this does happen. So your not the only one. I dont know what its called, i just wish it didnt happen.

It's your period. The brown is old blood. Being active can keep you from having your period because your body uses energy in the activity instead of going through menses. Being stressed also can delay your period. The pill can be starting to effect your periods and changing when they come and making it come sooner. You may want to talk to your doctor if this keeps happening. When you're young (teens) periods can be irregular for a couple years until your body gets used to the change and sometimes when you're older they can be irregular out of the blue for some women. If it bothers you, especially since your birth control could play a role in this, then call your doctor.

i would say that it's you ovulating (that can cause bleeding) but you are on the pill so you shouldn't be ovulating, hmmmm, exercise usually keeps your period away~ i would just say that it is the birth control pill screwing with your cycle... you may need a stronger dose.
