Thailand???

Question

hey anyone know ban nam kem? it's a small fishing village in thailand. could someone tell me how far a drive is it from the phukit airport? tks. :)

Its actually about 25 km. north of Khao Lak, which is about a 1-2 hr drive from Phuket International Airport, when you cross Sarasin Bridge you will come Y intersection. You can go either way but if you go straight and it will take you towards Khao Lak, if you go towards the right you will heads to Phangna which would take twice as long.

Probably not a good idea to drive if you can't read Thai, cause most of the signs in English are worn off.

Ban Nam Kem is in Phang Nga Province. I have been there and to the tsunami memorial (see link) 2-3 times.

From Ban Nam Kem, there is a ferry to Koh Khao.

Coming from Phuket, you turn left off the main road (route 4) about a dozen kilometers before you reach the town of Takupa. The turn-off is between kilometer-marker 82 and 83.

Unfortunately, when I was there, there were no signs in English indicating that the road leads to Ban Nam Kem or to the tsunami memorial. However, there were signs to Andaman Princess Resort and to some of the resorts on wonderful Koh Khao and you can find details on how to get there in the last of the links below.

Baan Nam Kem is a fishing villagein Phang-Nga about 100 kilometers north of Phuket near Khao Lak. Below is the web site about the village. I have been there before would be a nice trip for you.
