Can I tour around Kuala Lumpur for a day?

What are the "must-see" spots within Kuala Lumpur if I need to spend only a day or two in the city?

Yes you can.
(1) Petronas Twin Tower - mising this place is like missing
Eifferl Tower when one is in Paris. you can do shopping,
visit the Aquaria ( Aquarium ), photo snappings
(2) Kuala Lumpur Tower - go up the observation deck to get
a bird eye's view of Kuala Lumpur, however give it a miss
if there is a big crowd there, don't waste your time there as
only you have to queue to go up
(3) Kuala Lumpur Bird & Butterfly Park
(4) Merdeka Square - one of the top landmarks in Kuala
Lumpur along with Petronas Twin Tower
(5) Chinatown ( Petaling Street ) - shopping for souveniers
and imitation goods ( haggling is a MUST )
(6) Central Market - souvenier and handicraft shopping
(7) Bukit Bintang - no. 1 nigth life spot in the whole of
Malaysia. Few shopping malls , many pubs and clubs,
restaurants ( asian and western , fine dining )

(4), (5), (6) are all within walking distance
You should be able to visit all the above places in one full day.

if you like to Shop i would really suggest you to visit the Petronas Twin Towers and Petaling Street or Central Market...it's pretty easy to get there. You can just take the Light Rail Transit Train (LRT) to travel all over Kuala Lumpur. It's convenient.

However, i would not suggest you to visit the museums and libraries, mosques, monuments as it will be quite boring...lol..trust me..

In Kuala Lumpur, you don't really have to visit the "must see" spots..there are places which aren't really a popular spots but its cool to visit there...just enjoy yourself and explore the city...and also remember to have fun! =)

The KLCC (a shopping complex), which is joined with one of the world's tallest buildings, the Petronas Twin Towers.

Also, you may also want to visit the Padang Merdeka, which is a historical site. It is the place where Malaya was announced an independent country from the British Union in 1957.

There is this huge ferris wheel dubbed the "Eye on Malaysia" which was just recently completed in line with the Visit Malaysia Year. I guess you can take a bird's eye view of the State when you go on the ride.

That's all I can think of at the moment. You can actually do more research through the search engines and the Tourism Malaysia's official website.

    Good luck.
