What are appropriate feminist Christmas decorations?
I would imagine that Santa Claus would be out since he is representative of the patriarchial society in which we live. Are reindeer out as well, since they are all male?
How should feminists decorate their homes and trees for the holidays?

Actually, the reindeer are all female. Only females have antlers this time of year, so they are female.

put a Tyrolean hat on top of the Christmas tree, and use a big ugly boot for a tree stand. Paint a big red nose and antlers on a poster of Andrea Dworkin. Stuff a wind-up Suzie Brownmiller doll that squalks it's friggin' head off in the manger scene. Have Stuffed Betty Freidans and Glora Steinems pulling a Nash Metropolitan on Skis with a pre-overstuffed Rosie O'Donnell, (in a too small Santa suit, with her crack sticking out) in it. Make an Oprah out of Sticks and mud and hang her on the front door with a candle on her hat.
I got lots more

You may need to back up and decide whether you even want to celebrate Christmas, since it represents the observance of the birth of a MALE historical figure (Jesus of Nazareth), as described in the Bible, which also contains many decidedly patriarchal references...
Ultimately, I think the question you're after is whether it's necessary to further the division between the sexes during the Holidays. It would amount to just another group jumping on the bandwagon, trying to cash in on Christmas.
I wonder, if we all dropped the gender question, just let it go entirely, whether the succeeding generations would do things better? My guess is no.

as a feminist, i havent really thought about it. I oppose "traditional" christmas decorations because they are over-marketed tripe. im a brightly colored lights and personal ornaments type of girl.

The same way anyone else decorates their home for the Holidays. You don't need to change holiday decorations because you are a feminist..It's completely ridiculous for anyone to do that. Christmas is Christmas, why does everyone insist on changing it in some way? You don't like everything about it, don't celebrate it.

First off. Get your head out of your feministic *** and realize that society is always going to be both male and female, (ohh no! are you gonna be mad since i put male before female?) and seriously there are many symbols of the female spirit and its nurturing tendencies and glory as well. Quit being so 1 dimensional about life and open up your mind. Get your distaste of man out of your heart its just ridiculous. Two things that have always bugged me 1. Vegans and 2. Feminists
