I had to remove my belly ring at 4 months... and I still got a stretch mark across the piercing. I was able to replace the ring after I had the baby (I've had the piercing for about 7 years). My sister wore her's all the way throughher pregnancy, but also has a stretch mark there.

I've had my piercing for about 5 yrs. But I decided to take out my belly ring when I was 16weeks pregnant. But I read somewhere in a pregnancy magazine, that you can keep your bell ring on for the whole duration of your pregnancy and it wont have any effect on the baby. But it all depends on how comfortable you are. To me it just didn't seem right to have a growing belly with a belly ring sticking out.

Go for it and get one! I had mine pierced from 18 years old to 22 years old when I became pregnant. No matter what your always going to have a hole there after you take it out. No big deal. And mine got smaller after I took it out and it healed. Barley can see the hole. If you want one go for it. You can even keep it in as long as you want then that way after baby you can put it back in. I would go for a small hole rather then a large one

You only live once, have fun be safe and make sure you do it at a safe place!

I have a friend who loves to show her belly to anyone considering a belly button ring. she had one, and had a big baby and got a lot of stretch marks (which is normal anyway). Her belly button-ring hole got so stretched and contorted it went upwards (usually stretch marks are lower).

she had very big babies and was small herself so she's an exception, but if you're thinking of getting pregnant in the next 5 years, you probably wont be showing off your belly after baby anyway (it gets soft and squishy and usually full of stretch marks anyway), so i'd stay away from it and get some other cute peircing if you're really wanting something done. I think nose studs are great!

well the hole will definently spred and it could get swolen and infected but it depends how how long you've had it befor you got pregnet. it also might have some risk on the baby's health or on the dilevery process.

If you are pregnant now or are planning on becoming pregnant in the near future, wait because it will not heal properly. If you won't be pregnant for a while then it's okay. I have mine pierced and took it out while I'm pregnant and my piercer says it will go right back in when I am not pregnant anymore.

It'll stretch, but everyone's body responds differently. If your belly button pops out, though, and you have a ring in there, you do run the risk of catching it on things. It's a lot to have "out front" there.

i would honestly say wait, especially if you are goin to breast feed, that baby is goin to hit it every time you hold it, and it will never heal. I got mine pierced when my son was a couple months, and he was constantly hitting it, which wouldn't let it heal, and i ended up taking it out. but if you are really interested in doing it, im not sure if they stretch, but they do have certain rings for pregnant women, which give it room to grow. they are longer then the normal bars.

Im 38 weeks preggo and I was 13 when I got mine done. I dont really regret it. I can still get a ring in it but it hurt cuz its so stretched. I also have stretch marks on it but they are faint. Everyone is different tho. One of my old friends kept hers in thru her entire pregnancy and it didnt really stretch or anything.

itll stretch out and leave a horrible long scar, sometimes people have to get it sergicaly fixed so the hole doesnt get an infection, thats why wen you get pregnant right away you take out the piercing or you take it out acouple of months before you get pregnant, that way the hole can grow in.

I had mine pierced but took it out the minute I found out I was pregnant. It really just depends on the person. A friend of mine had hers almost all the way through her pregnancy until she was 7 months. It was uncomfortable for her so she took it out. It didn't really stretch a lot but as soon as she gave birth it went back to nornal after she started working out. As for me my belly is growing but my hole is still the same size....Actually its healing pretty good and its almost gone. but the mark is still there.

I've had my navel piercing for...yikes, 13 years now.
I kept it in throughout two pregnancies.

You replace the jewelry with either a piece of nylon monofiliment, or you get a piece of jewelry designed for pregnant women. (Basically, you need something long, and something flexible.)

Mine didn't "stretch out." It looks fine--just like it did before my babies.

Wish the belly did, too! :)

if you are pregnant right now most places wont do a piercing anyway but there are belly rings for pregnant bellys that allows room for expanding

    Get it peirced!!!:)
if you want a belly ring go for it. Honestly you don't plan on having kids just yet, it heals in like 4-5 days and for me I kept mine in until i was 8 3/4 mnths pregnant. I got HUGE like really huge lol.. but my belly button didn't poke out ( i know it's wierd lol). and i switched the bar bell to a small hoop type ring, and it never got ugly looking. If you get it done and you get pregnant well you don't blow up overnight, you have time to take it out once you feel it's starting to strech out. And for the cocoa butter. some people say it works and swear by it but it's not so. It deffinately helps to keep you belly moistened vitamin E capsules work ( they work for evrything :) but just remember as your belly streched out try your hardest NOT to scratch. Even when your sleeping it helps to rip the skin and thus cause strech marks. but that's besides the point. So I say GET R PEIRCED :) and enjoy it.
