Do you think Ohio State could hang with either Missouri or West Virginia in Football this year?

I'm a huge OSU fan, but I think West Virginia would eat us up pretty bad. Illinois is basically a bad version of WV. Missouri I think we'd beat though. It'd be a close game, but our defense and Beanie Wells would pull us through it.

No, OSU only hurts itself not playing the last 2 weeks of the season. They need a Big 10 championship! If they play in the NC they will have 6 weeks off before they play again!!

Either one of these teams will crush OSU!

With the Tigers Offense the way it has been playing I don't think so; however there is one more step to go before we can see them play.

Yes. They are 30-2 over the last 32 games, including 2 wins over teams ranked 2 in the country, they have 8 starters back on defense from a team that only lost one game last year, and they have beanie wells and one of the best offensive lines in college football this year. Missou beat the illini with Juice on the bench, and needed two picks in the endzone to do it. 40-36. WVU is a good team, but so is OSU. They can hang with anyone in the country. To dominate OSU, you would need a team with a great defense, and neither one of those teams have that.

By your logic, Florida State, Arizona State, Iowa State, Kansas State and Mizzou couldn't lose to Oklahoma, since they all beat Colorado. But wait, didn't Iowa State and Mizzou lose to OU. How is that possible?

I point you to the link needed to answer your question. Considering Missouri Beat the Illinois team that knocked Ohio St. off. Im saying OSU might not be able to hang with Missouri.

Also, Missouri PUT Juice Williams on the bench. Guess OSU's 'D' should have played harder. Maybe they could have injured him as well.

west virginia is nobody they haven't played any team that is tough i think the question is if west virginia can hang with ohio state and missouri

I'm not an OSU fan but they certainly have a good team and always seem to stay in games, with the exception probably being the 2007 NC game versus Florida. I was actually surprised they lost to Illinois...not that Illinois isn't a good team but I thought OSU had finally gotten beyond letting teams stay with them this season...anyone remember the 2002 season when NC State and Bowling Green stayed close enough late in the game to give the haters (me included) hope for an upset at the Horseshoe. I think Missouri and West Virginia would give OSU good games and might win 2 out of 10 match ups...but despite my personal feelings I think the Buckeyes play consistently good football (especially on defense) and don't make lots of mistakes. I don't see either team blowing a Tressell coached team out like FLA did last year.

Sean H - another uneducated West Virginia hater. WVU's schedule is RANKED 35th best in the nation - considering that Ohio St's is ranked 56th, it's not too bad. Who has WVU beaten?? How about 9-2 20th ranked UConn by 45 last night for starters, also ranked 8-2 Cincinnati, and Maryland and MIssissippi St aren't bad either - BUT WHO HAS OHIO STATE BEATEN (besides MAC teams and anybody who lost to a I-AA team this year)?

First of all - OSU is not in the game if WVU beats PITT and Missouri beats OU. Missouri's only loss is to OU - so it's a toss-up. WVU's loss was to South Florida who beat Auburn at home. I think OSU will lose as badly to WVU as they did to Florida last year. I grew up in Michigan - and the Big Ten was fun, but always overrated. Bo and Woody are long gone.

Yeah...I think so...the really good teams that could compete with OSU beat themselves up with the schedules they played. Many 2 loss teams in the top ten are better than Mizzou or WVU. You'll see Mizzou go down to one of 'em this weekend

If both teams are on their game, should be a good one .... if it either of those games ever happen. All those teams lost a game, so anyone who says with such confidence that one team wouldn't hang with another doesn't have much to stand on.

Ohio State lost to an Illinois team that played their best game of the year. Illinois played awesome, the Buckeyes sucked, and they still only lost by 7. Had Illinois played like that all year, they'd probably be playing for the NC.

I guess you can say Missouri has the most "quality loss" if there is such a thing.
